The article provides an overview of the pricing dynamics in the Polish agricultural market, with a focus on industrial apples and apple concentrate. It highlights the significant fluctuations in prices, especially for industrial apples, which reached as low as PLN 0.08 per kilogram in 2018 due to overproduction. This led to a decrease in the price of apple concentrate, with the cost ranging from PLN 7.50 to 7.75 per liter in December 2018. In contrast, the price of apples for concentrate remained steady at PLN 0.15 - 0.18 per kilogram. The situation improved in 2019 with lower apple production, leading to higher prices, but stable concentrate prices. In 2020, prices remained stable with global demand, and Poland emerged as the largest producer of apple concentrate due to reduced production in China. However, the price of industrial apples saw a drastic increase, reaching over 700% compared to the previous seasons, despite the stable concentrate prices. The article raises concerns about the potential manipulation of prices and the impact on farmers, especially with the dominant influence of German capital in the apple processing industry.
