The State Duma deputy asks the Ministry of Agriculture to refuse the import of llama meat from Bolivia to Russia

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Georgy Arapov (“New People”) sent an appeal to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut, in which he asks to refuse the possible import of llama meat into Russia. The document is in the possession of TASS. Earlier, Rosselkhoznadzor reported that the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands of Bolivia expressed interest in exporting llama meat to Russia. The agency explained that due to the fact that the product is exotic for Russia, Rosselkhoznadzor asked to send detailed information about the manufacturer and product, as well as about the epizootic situation in Bolivia regarding infectious diseases to which llamas are susceptible and the control measures applied. “The llama is listed in the International Red Book.
