Agriculture Minister Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli announced that consumers can expect news on milk prices soon, promising, "I hope we can share the positive developments about milk prices in a short time." This announcement came during a ceremony for the collaboration on the Breeding Curly Sheep Production Facility in Aliağa, İzmir, a project aimed at boosting agricultural development and featuring as the first of its kind in the country. The facility, which will initially cost around 2 million liras and can house 5,000 small cattle at full capacity, is part of the broader Improvement in the Hands of the People Project, which includes initiatives such as pasture rehabilitation and subsidies for small cattle breeding in İzmir. Since 2002, there has been a notable increase in the sheep and goat population in İzmir, with significant support for small cattle breeding and significant improvements in milk yield.
