How many farm animals remained in Bulgaria and from what regions?

The animals registered on the territory of the country by species in the economic year 2020/21 are public in the Open Data Portal. Statistics show that the current total number of cattle and buffaloes in the country is 534,119. Of these, dairy cows number 192,921. Analysts have already predicted that by 2025 their number will decrease to 190 thousand. Agrostatistics for the previous economic year show that then their number was 227.7 thousand for the whole country. At present, most dairy cows are bred in Plovdiv district - 25,896, and in Sliven region - 14,109. According to the latest data, there are 142,583 beef cows in Bulgaria, most of them in Blagoevgrad - 22,118, followed by Kardzhali - 19,398, Haskovo - 16,558, Plovdiv - 13,084 and Burgas - 12,968.
