Statistics Canada has revised its crop production estimates for 2020, reducing wheat and pea projections and increasing lentil and soybean estimates in its September report. The adjustments are based on satellite imagery due to COVID-19 restrictions, with wheat production estimated at 34.1 million tonnes, down from 35.7 million, and durum wheat seeing a significant drop. Meanwhile, lentil production is projected to reach 3.1 million tonnes, an increase from 2.8 million, and soybean production is expected to rise to 6.1 million tonnes from 5.9 million. Other crops like corn, dry beans, and chick peas also show increased production estimates.
