Brazil: Passo Fundo begins free distribution of corn seeds to farmers affected by the floods

Rural producers who had their crops damaged by the floods are receiving an important incentive as a result of an agreement between Fetag-RS and the State Government. Corn seeds donated by seed companies are being distributed free of charge to farmers, with the aim of alleviating the losses incurred due to crop losses. In Passo Fundo, Coxilha and Mato Castelhano, more than 140 bags of corn are being distributed to rural producers. In these three municipalities, the Rural Workers Union was responsible for organizing the action, identifying producers in need, requesting assistance and building the logistical partnership with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Passo Fundo to search for seeds.
