Strategie Grains Raises EU Wheat Harvest Forecast for Third Consecutive Month

Experts from Strategie Grains have raised their forecast for soft wheat production in the European Union for the third consecutive month to 130.7 million tons, up from the 129.8 million tons expected in May, thanks to improved yield prospects in Spain, Romania, and Bulgaria, Reuters reports. In particular, soft wheat production is expected to reach historical highs in Spain and Romania. Moreover, rainfall from late May in northern regions has stabilized field conditions for wheat and barley, although yield potential remained uncertain in northern France and Germany. The forecast for soft wheat exports from the EU in the 2025/26 marketing year has also been raised to 31.8 million tons from 31.2 million tons last month, which is almost 29% higher than the expected 24.7 million tons for the current season.
