The Huelva Strawberry Producers and Exporters Association (Freshuelva) has reported a decrease in strawberry production by 4 percent for the 2021-2022 campaign, totaling 270,120 tons, due to climatic adversities and increased production costs. Despite a 2.80 percent increase in average sale price, profitability has been reduced. The campaign also faced challenges such as transport strikes and competition from other European countries. On the other hand, production of raspberries and blueberries increased by 7.5 percent and 20.2 percent respectively, but there was a significant decrease in the average selling price of blueberries. Germany and the United Kingdom continue to be the primary destination countries for Huelva's red fruits.
