Sugar prices on the rise in international markets due to purchases by funds and expectations of decreased production in India, the world's largest producer. On ICE Futures in New York, the raw sugar contract for March/23 was traded at 20.96 cents per pound, a 28-point increase from the previous week. In London, the raw sugar contract also saw gains in all expiries on ICE Futures Europe. Meanwhile, the internal market saw a drop in the price of refined sugar in Brazil.
