With the beginning of 2021, the provision on the so-called sugar tax. The new fee increased the prices of sweetened beverages. Some say huge increases, others say it is not that bad. How is it really? This is what the numbers will tell us. Moja Gazetka, in cooperation with Hiper-Com, prepared a report from which we learn how the prices of sweetened beverages changed on average after the introduction of the new fee. The "sugar" levy consists of 2 parts - fixed and variable. The fixed part is 50 groszy for each liter of sweetened drink and an additional 10 groszy for each liter of drink with added taurine or caffeine. The variable portion is 5 grams for every 1 gram of sugar in a drink over 5 grams per 100 ml of drink. The fixed part in the amount of 50 gr / 1 l also applies to beverages sweetened with sweeteners.
