Suğla Lake in the Seydişehir district of Konya, Turkey, is experiencing significant water withdrawal due to seasonal drought, causing concern for nature lovers and local fishermen. The lake, which is fed by the Taurus Mountains, the surrounding basin, and Lake Beyşehir, is losing its hydrogeological nutrition sources and is in danger of dying. The president of the Seydişehir Sportive Anglers and Wildlife Protection Association has called for measures to prevent uncontrolled irrigation and conscious fishing, and has planned an afforestation project to increase humidity around the lake.
