Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman met with President Prabowo Subianto to discuss plans to import dairy cattle from Vietnam by 2025 to meet Indonesia's national milk needs. Vietnamese investors, especially the TH Group, are interested in setting up large-scale dairy farms in Central Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, and South Sulawesi. This initiative is part of Indonesia's strategy to achieve self-sufficiency in meat and milk and supports the free nutritious meal program. The investment, involving about 250,000 cows, follows a memorandum of understanding signed in May and aims to boost milk availability in the country.
