In the September-April 2020/21 period, Ukraine's sunflower oil supply to foreign markets saw a significant decrease, dropping by 13.5% to around 4 million tons, as per a report by UkrAgroConsult. This decline marks the lowest supply in the past three marketing seasons. The country's export potential for the 2020/21 marketing period also saw a reduction of 19%, reaching 5.38 million tons.
The export dynamics in key markets experienced shifts, with China's share increasing by 40%, India's share decreasing by 7%, and the European Union's share decreasing by 33%. The Republic of Korea, Libya, and Saudi Arabia saw the highest growth in export volume, with increases of 144%, 56%, and 26% respectively, while exports to Spain, Iraq, and Italy saw significant decreases.
