Sunflower oil on the global market is the most expensive since 2022.

In October, sunflower oil prices on the global market reached their highest level in three years. The prices of raw sunflower oil in the Rotterdam market climbed for four consecutive months and at the end of October reached a peak of $1360-1380 per ton, which is the highest level since October 2022. Experts comment that one of the main reasons for the price increase is the ongoing decline in exports from Ukraine, one of the largest producers and suppliers of sunflower oil in the world. According to official statistics, in September Ukraine loaded 203,400 tons of sunflower oil onto the global market, which is 1.8 times less compared to the same period in 2024. Since the beginning of the 2025/26 marketing year, Ukrainian exports amount to a total of only 3.1 million tons, compared to 4.5 million in the first nine months of 2024/25.
