The Ukrainian sunflower market is in a phase of growth. Despite challenging weather conditions that are slowing down the harvest, the demand for sunflower seeds remains high. This is reported by the analytical department of the agricultural cooperative PUSK, created within the framework of the VAS. "The sunflower harvest is progressing slowly. Over the past week, the crop has increased by less than 1 million tons, with a total volume of about 6.3 million tons—only half of the planned 11.5–12 million tons. Due to the excess moisture, the quality of the seeds is deteriorating, and the share of marketable product is decreasing. This is stimulating the growth of prices in the market," analysts note.
