The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Egypt has announced a significant increase in the local wheat crop supply by farmers, reaching approximately 1.7 million tons through 420 collection points since the start of the harvest season. To encourage more supply, the government has raised the wheat supply price for farmers to 1,500 pounds. The ministry has ample storage capacity of 5.5 million tons and is committed to providing all necessary facilities to enhance supply rates. A directive has also been issued to distribute 10 kilos of bran for each ardeb of wheat supplied, with 30 kilograms of coarse bran given monthly per head of cattle. The directive regulates bran trading to protect farmers and sets the bran price at 8,000 pounds per ton.
