By Amélia Alves* São Paulo, 10/12/2025 - Suzano announced this Tuesday that it is expected to invest R$ 10.9 billion in 2026, an amount lower than the R$ 13.3 billion projected and maintained for 2025. The decision was approved by the company's board of directors. Through a relevant fact, Suzano explains that most of the reduction comes from lower expenses with forest maintenance in the next year. According to the company, the drop in cost is related to the decreased need for planting and the lower volume of standing timber purchases, a direct consequence of the exchange transaction carried out in August of this year. In the breakdown presented, the Capex for 2026 will be composed of R$ 7.3 billion for maintenance, R$ 800 million for expansion, modernization, and other projects, R$ 2.6 billion allocated to land and forests, and R$ 200 million linked to the Cerrado Project - the latter mainly referring to the payment of performance bonuses for the new factory.
