The Ural Livestock Breeders Association and the Union of Processing Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region have signed a cooperation agreement to prioritize local milk producers as suppliers to regional dairies, ensuring full purchase of milk. The agreement aims to keep the majority of raw milk within the region, supporting local producers and addressing concerns over sufficient milk processing capacity. This comes in response to Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev's directive for producers receiving regional subsidies to avoid selling milk in other regions and amidst reports of price increases for various dairy products across Russia in November.
