Turkey: Tarsus Municipality to distribute 22 tons of straw bales to animal producers free of charge

Tarsus Municipality will distribute 22 tons of straw bales obtained from municipal lands after harvest to small-scale animal producers within the scope of support activities for producers and production. Tarsus Municipality continues to support farmers and producers. In this context, 35 tons of wheat and 2 and a half tons of barley were obtained in the harvests made on 70 decares of municipal lands. After the wheat and barley harvest, 1100 straw bales were obtained. Straw bales, weighing 11 tons in total, will be distributed free of charge to small-scale animal producers, with the instructions of Tarsus Mayor Haluk Bozdoğan. With the average bale of straw to be given per producer, the 5-6 month feed needs of the livestock will be met.
