On April 11, 2023, in the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district of India, unseasonal heavy rains have caused significant damage to agricultural crops. Approximately 5,600 hectares of red chili crops, along with maize and mango crops, have been ruined in the areas of Venkatapuram and Wazedu mandals. This incident impacts farmers in the Bhadrachalam zone, a crucial region for red chili production in the Godavari belt. The damaged red chili crops have lost their color and may not be marketable, affecting exports to China and Europe.
