Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture has reported a significant increase in the country's fresh fruit exports to China in the first half of the year, with a total of 1,123,543 tons exported and a value of 81.282 billion baht. Despite this increase, Thailand's fruit exports experienced a decrease of 3.45%, largely due to factors such as China's epidemic prevention measures, increased transportation costs, and a decline in consumer purchasing power. Durian remains the top exported fruit, followed by coconut and longan. The Ministry is implementing policies to improve fruit quality and address issues such as new crowns in fruits, viruses, plant diseases, and insect pests, particularly in durian.
