Thailand's pig production reached 21.723 million head in 2024, an increase of 6.19% from the previous year, due to the recovery from African swine fever. The government plans to reduce production capacity in 2025 to stabilize output prices, resulting in a predicted decrease in pig production. Despite this, exports of live pigs, chilled and frozen pork, and processed pork are expected to increase in 2025 due to the economic recovery and high standards of Thai livestock products. Importes of pork products and other edible pig parts also saw variations in 2024, with a decrease in imports of other edible pig parts in 2025 expected to be similar to 2024.
