Thanks to a record beet yield, sugar production in Ukraine in 2025 will remain almost unchanged.

The sugar production season in Ukraine concluded on February 1, 2026. During the season, 26 factories of the "Ukrtsukor" association produced 1.64 million tons of sugar. Including one more factory that is not part of the association, the total sugar production amounted to 1.72 million tons, reports latifundist.com. Thus, despite a 23% or 50,000-hectare reduction in sugar beet planting areas compared to the previous year, sugar production decreased by only 4% or 80,000 tons. This was due to an increase in sugar beet yield to a record industry-high of 58 tons per hectare, a high sugar content (17.6%), and improvements in operational processes at processing plants, which led to a 1% increase in sugar yield compared to 2024, reaching 15.17%.
