Bulgaria, there is a proposal for a solution to the case with the stopped shipment of Romanian cows at the Kapakule checkpoint

A meeting was held at the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (FSAA), where the situation with the suspended shipment of Romanian cows at the Kapakule checkpoint was discussed. The meeting was attended by: the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Deyan Stratev, Dr. Iliyan Kostov - Chief Veterinary Sanitary Inspector of Bulgaria, the Executive Director of the BABH Dr. Svetlozar Patarinski, the Honorary Consul of Romania in Bulgaria Daniel Mazilu and the Romanian Deputy Chief veterinarian Laszlo Nagy. During the meeting, the proposal of the BABH, together with the Romanian veterinary authorities, to send a letter to the Turkish veterinary authorities to ensure the possibility of the animals to be unloaded at the live animal rest point at the Kapakule border crossing, in accordance with the requirements of Council Regulation (EC) 1255/97, which will ensure compliance with animal welfare requirements.
