The Agricultural and Forestry Service and the Rural Development Administration have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a data-based agricultural disaster safety net.

The Agricultural Insurance and Finance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Agricultural Insurance") and the National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as "NIAST") have pledged to actively cooperate in order to enhance data-based agricultural disaster risk management. Agricultural Insurance and NIAST signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at Agricultural Insurance's office in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 23rd of last month. This agreement was made to link and utilize Agricultural Insurance's accumulated policy insurance data and NIAST's satellite observation and analysis capabilities, as well as research achievements, to contribute to the enhancement of agricultural disaster risk management and the establishment of a data-based agricultural disaster safety net.
