The agricultural sector in Paraná experienced a significant 21% growth in 2023, leading to a record of US$25.2 billion in exports and making Paraná the fifth largest exporter in Brazil. The main export products were soy, chicken meat, soybean meal, and cereals, with soy alone accounting for 23.5% of exports. Despite the positive performance in agribusiness, the wood, paper, and cellulose segments saw reductions in prices, with a 12.9% drop in stock and a significant decrease in plywood sales. Furthermore, the state's imports decreased by 18.8% in 2023, resulting in a trade surplus of US$7 billion.
