The area under hazelnuts in Ukraine has almost tripled in five years

Industrial hazelnut orchards in Ukraine now occupy 5.5-6 thousand hectares, which is almost three times more than in 2019-2020, writes EastFruit. The founder of the Ukrainian farm Hazelstar, Makar Tereshchenko, shared this data in an interview with the magazine “Gardening in Ukrainian”. According to the expert, now the area under hazelnut plantations has already exceeded the area of industrial walnut orchards, which in 2019-2020 amounted to 5 thousand hectares, but since then has only decreased.
