The 'For a living chestnut grove' campaign, now in its fourth edition, is aimed at raising awareness about the challenges faced by chestnut groves in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, such as adverse weather conditions, pests, and unauthorized harvesting. Initiated by the Association of Entrepreneurs, Merchants and Self-Employed of Galaroza and supported by various other entities, the campaign uses social media and other channels to educate the public about the economic and cultural significance of chestnut groves. This year, the campaign has been expanded in collaboration with the Huelva Platform for the Defense of Castañar to include author photographs and reach a wider audience throughout Huelva province and beyond. The campaign is part of a larger effort to address the threats to chestnut farming and promote sustainable practices and community involvement.
