Almond cultivation is gaining momentum in Odesa region Freezing temperatures, moisture deficit, and heat are seasonal realities of the climate in southern Odesa region, to which farmers will have to adapt every year. In response to these challenges, the region is seeing a rise in the cultivation of a resilient crop—almonds. This is reported by South Today. Vladimir Balaban's almond orchards are located in the Safyanivka and Katlabuz communities of the Izmail district in Odesa region. According to him, almonds are a very interesting crop, quite undemanding to growing conditions. "Wherever grapes grow, almonds will always grow and bear fruit. Not just grow, but bear fruit. Great, we can get a minimum of 600 kg of nuts per hectare, up to a maximum of 1.5 tons, depending on the varieties, rootstocks, and planting schemes," said the owner of almond orchards, Vladimir Balaban.
