In 2020, Ukraine's eggplant production totaled 67.9 thousand tons, with 94% produced by households and 6% by farms, primarily in the Kherson region. Over the last five years, production has decreased by 19% due to a ban on Ukrainian vegetable imports to Russia, leading to lower prices. Ukraine imported 12 times more eggplants than it exported in 2020, mainly from Turkey, Spain, and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, pepper production increased by 5% from 2019, making Ukraine the 18th largest producer.
