The ban on the import of vegetables to Russia has halved the industrial production of eggplant in Ukraine

In 2020, eggplant production in Ukraine amounted to 67.9 thousand. t, with the majority of products provided by households and only 6% accounted for by farms. Almost half (43%) of all production volumes come from the fields of the Kherson region, according to the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB). It is worth noting that over the past five years, eggplant production has decreased by 19%.
