The barn of Spain has the second worst cereal harvest of this century

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development of Castilla y León, Gerardo Dueñas, has released the data for the 2023 winter cereal harvest in Calzada de Coto (León). This campaign has been characterized by extreme drought and the unusual episodes of high temperatures, conditions that have weighed down the excellent sowing and the good state of the development of the crop that appeared before the beginning of spring. Thus, the month of March was warm and dry, but it was followed by an extremely dry month of April -fundamental for the development of the cereal-, with a water deficit of 80% and very warm, which negatively affected the development of the crop.
