However, historical issues with cherry quality and market regulations have led to concerns about the impact of rainfall and dryness on sugar and dry matter content, potentially affecting processing efficiency and leading to issues like fruit cracking and rotting. In response, the Serbian Minister of Agriculture has announced the formation of special commissions at cherry collection points to ensure proper quality assessment and prevent past issues of lower classification of good quality fruit, which could result in higher prices due to a lower yield of good quality cherries.
