On February 6, the 20th FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA) was officially announced, with Niederelbe's Pompur apple from Germany and ABZ Innovation's L50 Drone agricultural spray drone from Hungary winning the top honors. The awards were presented on the last day of the exhibition, recognizing five highly innovative products in each of the "Fresh Fruit and Vegetables" and "Technology" categories. Trade visitors had two days to vote for their favorite products. Niederelbe's Pompur apple is the world's first anti-allergic apple brand certified by the European Center for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF), meaning "pure apple." It has a bright red appearance, a crisp taste, and is friendly to allergy sufferers. Apple allergies are a common food allergy, particularly in Northern and Central Europe, affecting approximately 3.5 to 4 million people in Germany alone. Apple allergy sufferers cannot consume fresh apples and can only eat cooked apple products. It is understood that this apple was developed over 20 years based on ZIN168 and ZIN186, with no allergenicity and excellent taste, and will start selling in Europe in autumn 2025. The FLIA Technology Award went to ABZ Innovation's L50 Drone agricultural spray drone from Hungary. The company, a subsidiary of ABZ Drone, began independently developing agricultural drones in 2021 and is the first European manufacturer to develop agricultural drones. The L50 Drone is Europe's first 50-liter LiDAR agricultural spray drone, designed and manufactured in the European Union. It has a 30% longer flight time, covering up to 24 hectares per hour. With ABZ Sense technology, it achieves unparalleled precision, automated spraying accuracy, and intelligent terrain following capabilities.
