The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has published this Monday in the Official State Gazette (BOE) several modifications to the regulations governing the fishing fleet and the professional titles in the sector, with the aim of modernizing it and promoting generational renewal. The modifications, included in a royal decree approved in the Council of Ministers on October 21, respond to the demands of the sector and reinforce the Government's commitment to a more modern, efficient, and sustainable fleet, while promoting the incorporation of young people and the professionalization of the fishing sector. Ministerial sources have indicated that among the main novelties, facilities are introduced for obtaining the title of multi-purpose coastal master and the minimum length of vessels in which the necessary embarkations can be made to obtain the title is reduced from 12 to 9 meters.
