Despite the pandemic, the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam has reported a sharp increase in the total export turnover of agriculture, forestry, and fishery products in the first half of the year. The export turnover of agricultural products alone increased by 13.3%, with high export turnover items including rubber, tea, pepper, cashew nuts, vegetables, cassava, and wood and wood products. Fruit exports grew by 17.4%, reaching 2.36 billion VND. USD, and there has been a positive recovery in seafood exports as well. The ministry plans to take advantage of FTAs to promote agricultural exports and find ways to facilitate the consumption of agricultural and aquatic products. The ministry also intends to negotiate official exports to China of valuable agricultural products and promote the expansion of agricultural product markets to complementary economies.
