In Spain, the Canarian Government pays 5.6 million to winter tomato producers

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands has made effective the payment of 5.6 million euros corresponding to aid for traditional winter tomato producers for the 2022 campaign, to which a total of of 93 beneficiaries from the islands. These funds, contemplated in the Community Program to Support Agricultural Productions of the Canary Islands (POSEI), include aid for the hectare, for a value of 5.3 million, and another for reconversion for an amount of 302,000 euros, which is increased, with a maximum unit amount that goes from 14,000 euros in 2022 to 24,000 euros in 2023. As a novelty, this aid will be paid three years after the reconversion, to five.
