Corn harvesting has begun in Karapınar district of Konya. Field surveys in the district revealed that corn harvesting started early this year, while measurements in the fields determined that the moisture levels of the corn kernels were largely at 30-35 percent. Although experts indicate that the ideal moisture level for harvesting corn kernels is around 14 percent, some producers have started harvesting without waiting for this level. It is noted that producers are harvesting corn with a moisture level of 30-32 percent, especially for the production of corn silage, known as "corn sausage." The price of the product per kilogram is reported to range between 8.25 TL and 8.75 TL.
