Russia: The demand for plant-based drinks in March increased by 25%

In March, Russians bought 25% more packs of plant-based milk than in February, according to a study by the igooods food delivery service. The top 3 most popular types include coconut (37% of the total), oat (36%) and almond (11%) milk. Vegetable milk in March was found in every 22 orders, in February - in every 27 orders. The most popular brands among buyers are Nemoloko, Alpro and Aroy. They account for more than 76% of purchases. More than half of all orders of vegetable milk in March 2021 fell on St. Petersburg, Moscow - in second place with a share of 33%. In St. Petersburg, vegetable milk was bought 1.5 times more often than in Moscow. Surgut, Tver and Novosibirsk round out the top 5 cities in terms of vegetable milk consumption. Taste preferences in the two capitals differ. In St. Petersburg they prefer oat milk, and in Moscow - coconut milk.
