Early harvesting is a scourge for the Greek kiwi, says the Interprofessional Organization

A letter to the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, was sent by the president of the National Kiwi Interprofessional Organization, Mr. Christos Kolios, in which he denounces the premature harvesting and illegal trafficking of kiwifruit. Specifically, Mr. Kolios reports to AgroTypos that "as the premature cutting and trafficking of kiwifruit has started by some Greek professionals - exporters - traders, without infrastructure, knowledge and reliability, stressing that loads of Greek kiwifruit have already arrived on the market in the Netherlands and of Spain, as a result of which the long-term efforts of reliable producers, who are interested in the quality of Greek products, are disrupted.
