The European Commission has extended by three months, until December 31, 2025, the ban on the export of sheep and goats from Romania to other member states.
The measure was due to expire on September 30, but information on the extension of the deadline was published in the Official Journal of the EU, although no new outbreaks have been declared in the country except for one in Bihor County, reports agrointel.ro.
In the decision published by the European Commission, it is stated that the available data on disease surveillance in Bihor County, as well as in the rest of Romania's territory, "remain insufficient to assess the epidemiological situation regarding infections with the bluetongue virus in the respective member state."
