The European pear is moving slowly but upwards, a 38% increase in Greek production

The World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA) forecasts a modest recovery in European pear production for the 2024-2025 growing season, with an anticipated increase of 4.9% to 1.79 million tonnes. This is a small step towards regaining the EU's pear production levels, which have historically surpassed 2 million tonnes, but have seen challenges resulting in lower production levels in recent years.
