The European Union and the UK have imported 3.047 million tons of vegetable oils over nineteen weeks of the current season, maintaining the same rate as the previous year, according to Grain On-Line agency. This includes 2.128 million tons of palm oil, which has increased by 1%, and 121.4 thousand tons of rapeseed oil, which has increased by 11%. Soybean oil imports also rose by 9% to 204.8 thousand tons. However, sunflower oil imports decreased by 7% to 594.4 thousand tons. Ukraine was the main supplier of sunflower and soybean oil, providing 91% and 38% of these imports respectively, while Indonesia and Malaysia were the main suppliers of palm oil, accounting for 44% and 22% of imports respectively.
