The online Dried Fig Advisory General Assembly Meeting announced that the first export date for the 2021/22 season will be October 6, 2021. The decision was made in collaboration with exporting companies, the Ministry of Trade, and TİM, pending ministry approval. As of August 28, 2021, dried fig exports have seen a 2% increase in volume and a 4% increase in value compared to the previous season, totaling 67.2 thousand tons and 241 million dollars, respectively. The top five export destinations are Germany, USA, France, Italy, and Switzerland. The meeting also highlighted concerns over potential yield issues due to extreme heat experienced in late July and early August, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
