In January 2023, Ukraine exported live cattle worth $3.2 million, a 4.7-fold increase compared to the same period last year. The majority of these cattle were bought by Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan. There was no import of live cattle to Ukraine during the same month. The shortage of cattle for slaughter and demand to restore or increase the herd population globally, due to natural disasters in the USA and increased world feed prices, have influenced this situation. Despite the global demand for beef, Ukraine has reduced the volume of meat and meat product production.
