According to data from Senasa, in the more than 1,100 registered intensive fattening establishments there are just over 1.8 million animals, which means a 6.5% increase from what was recorded in February 2025. The Feedlot Chamber also acknowledged an increase in the amount of cattle being confined under this fattening modality. According to that entity, the occupation of the corrals is around 65%, 4 percentage points more than in 2025. The fact that there is more livestock in the feedlots responds to different issues and, at the same time, does not mean that more cattle will be offered or that consumption will grow this year, quite the contrary.
