The feedlots started the year receiving more animals and the explanation is the relationship between meat and corn: It is 17 to 1!

According to data from Senasa, in the more than 1,100 registered intensive fattening establishments, there are just over 1.8 million animals, which represents a 6.5% increase from what was recorded in February 2025. The Feedlot Chamber also acknowledged an increase in the amount of cattle being confined under this fattening modality. According to this entity, the occupation of the pens is around 65%, 4 percentage points more than in 2025. The fact that there are more cattle in the feedlots responds to different issues, and at the same time, it does not mean that more cattle will be offered or that consumption will grow this year, quite the opposite.
