Breakthrough from the source of production According to Vietnam's nationally determined contribution (NDC), agriculture is one of the 5 largest sectors of greenhouse gas emissions and is required to implement emission reduction solutions. Specifically for the cultivation sector, the NDC identifies N2O from agricultural soil and fertilizers as the main emission source. According to Dr. Phung Ha, President of the Vietnam Fertilizer Association, the fertilizer industry (including production and use) currently contributes 5% of the total greenhouse gas emissions globally. However, global crop production would immediately decrease by 50% if fertilizers were not used. This poses a major responsibility for scientists, businesses, and the community. Dr. Phung Ha, President of the Vietnam Fertilizer Association, emphasizes that emission reduction in the fertilizer industry in Vietnam requires an appropriate roadmap.
