The first asparagus seedlings planted in Sarıcakaya, Turkey

The first seedlings were planted within the scope of the "Sarıcakaya Asparagus Production Development Project" implemented with the support of the Sarıcakaya District Governorship and the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Eskişehir ranks first in asparagus production in Turkey, with 46 percent of its cultivation and 37 percent of its production provided from Eskişehir. The Sarıcakaya region, which has a microclimate climate feature and rich alluvial soils that the Sakarya River has fed for many years, is known as the base of asparagus production in Eskişehir. With the "Sarıcakaya Asparagus Production Development Project", which was prepared to increase the production area of the asparagus plant produced in the district and to enable the farmers to benefit more from the asparagus with high added value, 14 thousand asparagus seedlings were distributed free of charge.
