On December 5, the first "cherry express" MSC Lome V of the 2025/26 production season, departing from San Antonio Port in Chile, successfully docked at Guangzhou Nansha Port. Approximately 370 containers (about 8,000 tons) of fresh cherries were transported from Chile to Guangzhou through a full-process cold chain, and after customs inspection, they were transported to various wholesale markets and cold storages across the country via refrigerated vehicles. Ivan Marambio, President of the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association, pointed out: "This year, the number of direct flights to China for cherries has increased to 32, which is double the number of last year. Thanks to the efficient logistics system as well as cold chain and controlled atmosphere preservation technology, Chilean cherries only need 23 days to cross 20,000 kilometers, arriving at the Chinese market in excellent quality and fresh condition."
