The first shipment of Chilean cherries of the 2024-2025 season has arrived in China, marking a milestone in the fruit's logistical efficiency and collaboration within the production chain, as highlighted by Frutas de Chile. The "Cherry Express" ship carried 900,000 boxes of cherries, or 4,500 tons, from Valparaíso to the Port of Hong Kong, with the fruit distributed in Guangzhou, southern China. With 50 Cherry Express ships projected to sail from Chile to China during the season, expecting to deliver 90% of the total exported cherries, there has been a doubling of marketing investment to boost consumption in China's strategic cities.
