The New Zealand Global Dairy Trade exchange has reported a decrease in dairy product prices for the first time since November 7, 2023, with the general price index falling by 2.3%. The most significant drop was in skimmed milk powder prices, which fell by 5.2%, while lactose prices increased the most, by 4.8%. The volume of dairy products sold also fell, with 21,235 tons sold, a decrease of over 3,000 tons from the previous auction. This trend mirrors a similar decline in average milk purchase prices in Poland, which fell by 2.1% in January compared to December 2023.
